Contradictory situation with fertilizer prices appeared in Stavropol region

According to the statement of the press-service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Stavropol region, agricultural enterprises and farmers of the Stavropol region have already accumulated 123.8 thousand tons of mineral fertilizers or 51% of the planned volume for 2021 (245 thousand tons).
The fertilizers were applied on an area of 2.053 million hectares or 34% of the planned volume for the current year.
Prices for ammonium nitrate in the Stavropol region in August increased by 44% (compared to the same period in 2020) to 19.8 thousand rubles (approximately $270) per ton, for carbamide-ammoniac compound by 72% to 18.4 thousand rubles (approximately $250), for compound NPK fertilizer by 57% to 29.4 thousand rubles (about $400), and twice up for sulfoammophos to 39.5 thousand rubles (approximately $535). At the same time, compared to July 2021, prices remained at the same level.
