PhosAgro products got eco labels

PhosAgro has become the first company in Russia that has confirmed the compliance of its fertilizers with the requirements of the national standard for improved products. This will allow the company to use appropriate ecolabel.

Cherepovets, Volkhov, and Balakovo are the three production complexes of PhosAgro that have been certified. Thus, all mineral fertilizers of these enterprises have been certified for compliance with the Russian national standard, which introduces the world’s most stringent restrictions on the content of heavy metals and arsenic. It confirms the unique environmental efficiency of PhosAgro products, which will now be labeled with a Green Standard brand.

The characteristics of the new green segment determine the competitive differences from other products on the world market. The requirements for products labeled with Green Standard cover all stages of production, from the field to packaging.

“It’s very important for us to be the first to prove the compliance with the requirements of the national standard for improved mineral fertilizers. This confirms the exceptional eco-efficiency of our mineral fertilizers and their environmental characteristics for sustainable agricultural and food production,” noted PhosAgro CEO Andrey Guryev. “The beginning of the certification will serve as the basis for the implementation of the initiative of the President of Russia to create a market for improved products and will be the first important step in the practical implementation of the relevant law.”
