Voskresensk Mineral Fertilizers allocated over $4.8 million to protect the environment

Voskresensk Mineral Fertilizers (part of Uralchem) has reported the results of environmental safety activities in 2021. Last year, 463 million rubles (approximately $4.8 million) were allocated for environmental protection measures.

The company is focused on reducing the negative impact on the environment. The workshops of the enterprise are regularly updating and modernizing equipment to improve technological processes.

In particular, to maintain emissions at the achieved level, the wet-process phosphoric acid workshop No. 3 installed a fan for a corrosive environment, replaced a worn drain collector from vacuum evaporator systems and repaired spillage collection trays. The ammophos workshop No. 2 conducted repairs and updates of its equipment as well. These measures will ensure the efficient operation of dust collection installations.

The contact sulfuric acid workshop replaced the catalyst in the SK-48 contact unit to maintain emissions at the achieved level, and also replaced ion-exchange resins to reduce the volume of wastewater.
