Yara will build a new global plant in UK to produce special crop nutrition

The Norwegian mineral fertilizer producer Yara International (hereinafter Yara) announced the construction of a new global plant for the production of special crop nutrition and biostimulants designed to increase yields and improve its quality. The plant will be one of the largest in the world for the production of these products, which are critical to achieving food security and combating climate change.

The new plant will allow Yara to increase its presence in the specialty crop fertilizer business, one of the fastest growing markets in agriculture. Over the past 20 years, YaraVita’s specialized plant nutrition and biostimulant sales have increased five-fold. These products are designed to meet the specific needs of crops throughout the growing season and help them to increase their resilience to climate change.

The plant, which will be built next to the company’s existing site in Yorkshire, UK, will enable Yara to double the capacity of its YaraVita products. The facility is expected to be commissioned by the end of 2025. Almost all of the plant’s products will be exported to markets around the world.
