FertiStream inaugurates fertilizer blending plant in Togo

Dubai-based fertilizer trader and distributor FertiStream has inaugurated its fertilizer blending facility at the Adétikopé Industrial Platform (PIA) in Togo. Located near the capital Lomé, the new facility has an annual production capacity of up to 200,000 metric tons and is now fully operational. The plant has received full endorsement from the Togolese government and is positioned as the only modern, fully automated blending unit in the country. It is equipped with advanced automation technology supplied by Dutch manufacturer EMT and can produce a range of NPK fertilizer formulas tailored to national soil data and government recommendations.

The plant forms part of Togo’s broader industrialization strategy through the PIA, a Special Economic Zone developed in partnership with the government to attract investment and strengthen local value chains. The facility’s operation emphasizes local sourcing, with both raw materials and packaging procured domestically.

Imane Belrhiti, CEO of Nutrisource and Head of Business Development for Africa and the Middle East at FertiStream, described Togo as a strategic location, citing its political stability and commitment to modernization. “Our decision to set up in Togo wasn’t accidental. It’s a key country in the region, known for its economic openness and drive for modernization,” she said.
