Fyteko expands in Latin America through distribution deal with Point Group

Fyteko, a Belgian agricultural biotechnology firm, has signed a distribution agreement with Uruguay-based Point Group to expand its biostimulant product line across Latin America. The move comes as growers in the region seek climate-adaptive tools to maintain productivity amid worsening drought conditions.
Under the partnership, Point Group will distribute Fyteko’s foliar biostimulant, NursprayHC, a product developed to improve crop resilience to water stress. The companies plan to initiate field trials beyond strawberries—where the product has already shown positive results—to include grapes, asparagus, blueberries and field vegetables.
The agreement offers Fyteko a broader route to market in a region where agriculture faces increasing exposure to climate variability, while Point Group strengthens its portfolio of sustainable inputs. The two companies did not disclose financial terms of the deal.
“Following our entry into Brazil, this marks a pivotal step in bringing our biosolutions to more countries across Latin America,” said Fyteko Chief Executive Guillaume Wegria.
Founded in 2014, Fyteko specializes in biosolutions derived from enzymatically synthesized plant molecules. Its proprietary compounds—based on hydroxycinnamic acids—have been deployed on more than 500,000 hectares globally, according to the company.
Point Group, which operates in multiple Latin American countries, markets over 100 agrochemical and biological products. The company has focused in recent years on diversifying its offerings amid shifting grower demand and regulatory scrutiny of synthetic chemicals.
“This partnership allows us to expand our sustainable solutions portfolio at a time when growers need practical tools to manage hydric stress and maintain yields,” said Point Group CEO Scot von Bergen.
The companies aim to capitalize on a growing market for non-synthetic crop inputs, especially as regional governments and buyers place greater emphasis on sustainability standards in agriculture.
