FMC introduces fluindapyr fungicide in Ukraine, marking first EMEA launch

FMC Corporation has secured regulatory approval for its Tremisia fungicide in Ukraine, marking the first entry of the company’s novel fluindapyr technology into the European, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region. The registration allows use of the product on oilseed rape, sunflower, and wheat—crops that together cover over 10 million hectares of Ukrainian farmland.
The announcement underscores FMC’s broader strategy to expand its proprietary crop protection technologies in high-priority agricultural markets. “Ukraine ranks among the world’s largest exporters of sunflower, oilseed rape, and wheat, making it a strategically important agricultural market,” said Sebastià Pons, president of FMC EMEA. “The Tremisia approval brings Ukrainian growers our most advanced fungicide technology and demonstrates FMC’s continued commitment to science and innovation.”
Tremisia combines fluindapyr—a proprietary FMC molecule—with flutriafol, delivering dual modes of action that extend disease control efficacy. It targets a range of economically significant pathogens, including Alternaria and Sclerotinia in sunflower, and Septoria and rust in wheat.
“This registration fills an important gap in disease management options for Ukrainian growers,” said Nataliia Savchenko, country leader for FMC Ukraine. “Tremisia will offer growers a high-performance tool that integrates seamlessly into existing crop protection programs.”
The move follows fluindapyr’s commercialization in several key markets, including Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Paraguay, South Korea, and the United States. FMC has also received conditional approval in the Philippines, and additional launches are pending in Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Honduras, and India.
FMC, headquartered in Philadelphia, is a global agricultural sciences company focused on delivering crop protection solutions, including biologicals, digital tools, and proprietary active ingredients.
