Syngenta has introduced a new seed treatment premix for U.S. cereal growers, CruiserMaxx Vibrance Elite, following its registration by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The product will be available for use in the upcoming growing season.

CruiserMaxx Vibrance Elite is an upgraded formulation of CruiserMaxx Vibrance Cereals, combining fungicidal and insecticidal protection in a single premix. The treatment targets early-season diseases and insect pests to support strong, uniform crop emergence and healthier root development.

“This premix has been rigorously tested to fit the need for an all-in-one seed treatment that protects against key insect pests and diseases,” said Bryn Hightower, product lead for Syngenta Seedcare. “Compared with other seed treatments, we’ve observed an average of 18% greater plant stand and a 3.3 bushels per acre yield increase in Pythium-inoculated winter wheat.”

The formulation offers two modes of action against Rhizoctonia, Fusarium and Pythium—including mefeboxam- and ethaboxam-resistant isolates—and is labeled for a broad range of other seedborne and soilborne pathogens and pests.

According to Syngenta, the premix integrates the performance of Vayantis for high-pressure Pythium control, Maxim 4FS for Fusarium and seed decay protection, and a higher rate of Cruiser 5FS for insect management. “We know every seedling on every acre counts,” Hightower said. “This premix is another tool to help growers maximize their investment and achieve stronger, more uniform stands.”

It is alarming to see these developments in California. As a vineyard grower, I have faced significant challenges this year, with fertilizer costs rising sharply while market conditions have made it difficult to sell the harvest.
