Ikar introduces Fosto biostimulant in Italy offering more precise crop nutrition

Lithuanian agricultural inputs producer Ikar has launched its liquid biostimulant Fosto in Italy, unveiling it at the Macfrut 2026 exhibition in Rimini. This launch comes as growers increasingly turn to integrated crop nutrition solutions that improve input efficiency and support plant performance throughout the growing cycle.
Fosto is a multifunctional biostimulant designed to enhance plant metabolism, nutrient uptake, and tolerance to variable field conditions. It combines phosphorus, magnesium, zinc, and manganese with amino acids in a liquid formulation suitable for foliar and soil application. According to the company, the formulation not only supplies nutrients but also acts as a physiological modulator, influencing metabolic pathways linked to growth, stress response, and yield formation.
The company positions Fosto as particularly effective in early-stage crop development, supporting root establishment, root hair formation, and productive stem development. Additional benefits include improved grain filling, accelerated maturation, and increased resilience to abiotic stress such as drought and temperature fluctuations. The product is compatible with many fertilizers and crop protection products, though Ikar advises caution when mixing with high-copper or high-alkaline inputs.
