Russia restricts sulfuric acid exports through year-end

The Russian government has introduced a temporary restriction on exports of sulfuric acid. Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed the relevant decree on Sept. 12, according to Interfax.

The restriction will take effect 10 days after the decree is officially published and will remain in force through Dec. 31, 2026. The government said the measure is aimed at ensuring stable supplies of sulfuric acid to industrial companies and mineral fertilizer producers.

Exports will still be permitted based on decisions by the prime minister or his deputies, as well as for international transit shipments and under intergovernmental agreements.
