Krasnodar region may not receive high yields in 2022
According to the statement of the Governor of the Krasnodar region, Veniamin Kondratyev, a 50% increase in prices for ammonium nitrate threatens high yields in the Krasnodar region in 2022. Without urgent measures to control the cost of mineral fertilizers, agricultural products produced in the region will rise in prices too.
“The current increase in the cost of nitrate by 50%, as well as other fertilizers, threatens to obtain high yields in 2022. If we do not impose duties on the export of mineral fertilizers, then agricultural products grown and produced in the Krasnodar region will inevitably rise in prices,” said Veniamin Kondratyev.
Krasnodar region is one of the main agricultural regions of Russia with grain as the main type of exported products. The Kuban produces about half of all fruits and berries in the country and over 70% of Russian rice.
