Liming of 174.5 thousand hectares of land will be subsidized in Russia

This year it is planned to allocate 461.2 million rubles (approximately $6.2 million) from the federal budget of Russia to support soil liming activities. Works on an area of ​​174.5 thousand hectares will be carried out within the framework of the federal project “Involvement in circulation and comprehensive reclamation of agricultural land.”

Liming of acidic soils improves their agrochemical and agrophysical properties and increases fertility. In 2022, 227 projects worth 1.3 billion rubles (approximately $17.4 million) will receive state support. At the expense of the federal and regional budgets, farmers will be compensated for 50% of their expenditures.

In general, by the end of 2030, it is planned to carry out liming on an area of ​​2.271 million hectares.
