Miratorg will build a selection and seed center in the Kursk region

Agricultural holding Miratorg and the administration of the Kursk region signed a cooperation agreement on the construction of a selection and seed center. Investments in this project amount to 847 million rubles (over $15 million), and it will produce up to 27.4 thousand tons of seeds of grain, leguminous crops and perennial grasses for the needs of Russian agriculture.

The center will be located near the city of Kursk, where Miratorg is obliged to build workshops and facilities for production, engineering, infrastructure, administrative and storage purposes. Seeds for further processing will be supplied to the complex from the Kursk, Belgorod, Oryol, Bryansk and Stavropol regions. Seeds of wheat, barley, corn, sunflower, rapeseed, ryegrass, fescue, clover and alfalfa will act as a raw material base.

Miratorg undertook to implement the project by the end of 2023 and fulfill all other obligations following the cooperation agreement. The Administration of the Kursk region, for its part, is ready to provide the necessary information and consulting services and provide the investor with state support measures under the current legislation.
