Usolskiy potash plant commissioned a new mine shaft

EuroChem reports that the Usolskiy potash plant (part of EuroChem) has completed the sinking of the mine shaft No. 3.

Preparation of the site for its construction began in 2015, and the sinking itself started in 2017. Its depth is 512 m. The shaft No. 3 will allow the Usolskiy potash plant to increase the extraction of potassium salts and the production of potassium chloride.

“We are facing a unique moment – this is a milestone that EuroChem and the Usolskiy potash plant will remember for a long time. There are only a few such projects for the construction of shafts in the world. We’re glad to conclude that the shaft has been completed on time,” said Roman Filippov, Head of the Mining division of EuroChem.
