Kazakhstan needs 703 thousand tons of fertilizers for the next year

In 2023, Kazakhstan will need 703 thousand tons of mineral fertilizers (in 2021 it was 604 thousand tons), the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of Kazakhstan reported.
As of today, half of the required volume of mineral fertilizers is imported from abroad. To reduce dependence on imports several large investment projects are planned to be implemented in Kazakhstan.
For example, KazAzot intends to build a complex for the production of ammonia, carbamide and ammonium nitrate by 2026. Its capacity will be 500 thousand tons of ammonia per year and the same amount of carbamide and ammonium nitrate.
