U.S. Ambassador promotes clean energy and climate action in Pakistan
U.S. Ambassador to Pakistan, Donald Blome, alongside U.S. Consul General in Lahore, Kristin Hawkins, underscored the U.S. commitment to the “Green Alliance,” a bilateral framework designed to address climate change, enhance food security, and tackle energy challenges. During his visit to Lahore, Punjab Province, Ambassador Blome toured Zyp Technologies, where he praised the firm for its innovative efforts in reducing carbon emissions and combating air pollution through eco-friendly transportation solutions, notably its pioneering electric motorcycles that are setting new sustainability standards in Pakistan’s transport sector.
In addition to promoting eco-friendly transport, Ambassador Blome’s itinerary included a stop at Agrilift AI Private Limited, a beneficiary of U.S. funding aimed at boosting agritech investment. Agrilift’s precision farming technology is at the forefront of transforming agricultural practices in Pakistan, aiming to increase crop yields and ensure sustainable farming methods. “This program exemplifies the U.S. support in advancing agritech and promoting sustainable agricultural practices in Pakistan,” Blome remarked during the visit.
The ambassador reiterated the United States’ dedication to partnering with Pakistan to enhance agricultural productivity and improve the livelihoods of farmers while conserving critical soil and water resources. “Through projects and partnerships like these, we are committed to fostering a brighter and more prosperous future for the people of Pakistan,” Blome concluded.
