OCI Global announces new leadership as company enters next growth phase

OCI Global, a premier global producer and distributor of hydrogen products, has announced significant changes to its leadership structure effective immediately. Ahmed El-Hoshy is stepping down as CEO after over four years at the helm, choosing to focus fully on leading Fertiglobe into its next growth phase. OCI’s current Chief Financial Officer, Hassan Badrawi, will take over as Chief Executive Officer.

The transition sees Mr. Beshoy Guirguis, currently Vice President of Global Growth and Transformation and Chief Financial Officer of OCI US Nitrogen, stepping into the role of Chief Financial Officer of OCI Global.

Nassef Sawiris, Executive Chairman of OCI, praised Ahmed El-Hoshy’s 15-year tenure, highlighting his pivotal role in steering the company to global leadership in fertilizers and chemicals. “Ahmed’s leadership has been instrumental in our strategic initiatives, including the significant decarbonization of our operations and successful business divestments,” said Sawiris. He further expressed confidence in Hassan Badrawi’s capabilities, emphasizing his 23 years of experience at OCI, which includes leading the company’s strategic review and its successful outcomes.

Under El-Hoshy’s leadership, OCI prioritized growth across its global portfolio, particularly in the ammonia and methanol sectors, achieving substantial value for shareholders. His significant contributions also include the expansion of OCI’s operations in the U.S. and Europe and the launch of Fertiglobe’s IPO in 2021.

Badrawi, in his previous role as CFO and Head of M&A, has been pivotal in directing the company’s mergers, acquisitions, and financial strategies. He has been with OCI since 2001, holding various leadership positions that have prepared him for his new role as CEO.

Mr. Guirguis, in his new capacity, will continue to drive the financial strategy and growth for OCI, building on his extensive experience in project development and financial management within the financial, industrial, and petrochemical sectors.
