Phytech’s digital farming platform saved 132 billion gallons of water in 2024

In 2024, farmers using Phytech’s precision agriculture technology saved over 132 billion gallons of water, a 20% improvement over industry benchmarks. This water conservation is equivalent to the annual consumption of more than 3.1 million U.S. households, according to the newly released Phytech 2024 Sustainable Practices Report. The report presents data on how digital monitoring and automation optimize agricultural production while reducing environmental impact.
Data-Driven Irrigation and Yield Optimization
Phytech’s platform integrates plant and field sensors with automated in-field controls, allowing farmers to adjust irrigation and other inputs in real-time based on data. In 2024, this system prevented 7.9 million plant stress days, reducing water stress by 94% and improving crop health. The report indicates that these improvements resulted in a reduction of carbon emissions equivalent to the absorption capacity of 261,131 acres of forest annually.
Adoption and Global Reach
Phytech’s technology has been implemented across 402,426 acres, tracking 43 million trees in 18,000 fields worldwide. The scalability of the platform allows farms of varying sizes to benefit from data-driven precision agriculture, optimizing resource use and improving yield consistency.
Environmental and Energy Efficiency Gains
The report highlights additional sustainability metrics. In 2024, optimized irrigation schedules reduced irrigation-related carbon emissions by 112,221 tons, equivalent to 12.6 million gallons of gasoline. Energy efficiency gains were also observed, with 90% of the 5.9 million irrigation events analyzed occurring during off-peak hours, reducing energy costs and lowering grid demand.
Industry Insights and Practical Impact
Farmers utilizing Phytech’s technology report measurable improvements in water management and operational efficiency.
“Phytech helped us save over 316 million gallons of water in 2024 and cope with the water issues in Arizona,” said Ryan McGuire, Ranch Manager at Peacock Nuts Company.
The Role of Technology in Agricultural Sustainability
With increasing resource constraints and regulatory pressures, digital solutions are playing an increasingly important role in sustainable farm management. Phytech’s technology supports data-driven decision-making, allowing farmers to optimize production while adapting to environmental and economic challenges.
Backed by scientifically validated data and collaborations with global research institutions, Phytech’s platform contributes to improved sustainability and operational efficiency in agriculture. As precision farming evolves, data-centric solutions are expected to remain central to addressing global food security and resource management challenges.
