Achema is a leading producer of nitrogen fertilizers and chemical products in Lithuania and the Baltic states. The first construction works of the factory date back to 1962, however officially the company was founded on February 9, 1965, after the first tonnes of synthetic ammonia were produced in a newly launched ammonia unit.
Achema is mainly engaged in nitrogen fertilizer, fertilizer blends, liquid fertilizer, ammonia, nitric acid, formalin, urea-formaldehyde – melamine resin, industrial gas, and aluminum sulfate solution production.

Europe is falling behind in this field. The concerns 30 years ago was reasonable. Now not so much. We need crops that can survive in a more extreme future climate. Handle droughts and hot weather better. Crops that are less tasty to pests like hogs and deere.
