Ukraine nitrogen fertilizers export replaces import

The State Fiscal Service of Ukraine reported that in January-March this year, the import of nitrogen fertilizers into Ukraine decreased by 55.1% to 363.099 thousand tons. In monetary terms, imports to Ukraine decreased by 63.6% to US$71.422 million.

On the contrary, the export of nitrogen fertilizers from Ukraine to the world market in the first quarter of 2020 increased almost 2.3 times to 266.793 thousand tons. In monetary terms, it increased 2.1 times to US$55.581 million.

For comparison, 1,743 million tons of fertilizers were delivered to Ukraine in 2017, 1.358 million tons in 2018 and 1,595 million tons in 2019. Exports amounted to 673.704 thousand tons, 341.442 thousand tons and 940.366 thousand tons, respectively.
