Kirovo-Chepetsk Chemical Plant invested $19.5 million in environmental protection measures

According to the results of last year, the total expenses and investments of the Kirovo-Chepetsk Chemical Plant (KCKK, part of Uralchem) in environmental protection amounted to about 1.5 billion rubles (almost $19.5 million).

The company pays special attention to this area. Modernization of installations for the treatment of industrial emissions continues. Work was carried out in terms of replacing technological pipelines and heat-exchange equipment of production facilities, modernizing pallets of capacitive equipment, and repairing acid-resistant floors. The program of industrial environmental control was carried out in full and the absence of an excess of pollutant standards was confirmed.

A large amount of work has been done to establish the updated boundaries of the sanitary protection zone of the KCKK branch. This necessary measure is connected with the changes that have taken place in Russian legislation.
