Roquette launches plant-based ingredient range for agricultural formulations

Roquette, based in France, has launched NEOSORB AG, a plant-based multifunctional polyol range for agricultural formulation developers focused on improving crop performance under environmental stress. Announced on June 25, the product line is intended for use in liquid fertilizers, foliar nutrition, biostimulants, micronutrient products, and adjuvants. It combines humectancy, organic complexation, and potential biostimulant functionality in a single ingredient platform.
The portfolio includes two liquid grades: NEOSORB AG S50 and NEOSORB AG L20. NEOSORB AG S50 contains at least 69% sorbitol and 10% mannitol, and has shown improvements in biomass, chlorophyll content, and root length in tomato trials under salinity stress compared to sodium chloride-treated controls. NEOSORB AG L20, with 65% dry matter and 50–70% sorbitol on a dry matter basis, is designed to improve moisture retention, nutrient delivery, and plant resilience, while streamlining formulation development for various agricultural products.
“Through the NEOSORB AG range, we offer formulators more flexibility to develop innovative high-value solutions adapted to their product design objectives and market needs,” said Julien Honoré, head of Agriscience at Roquette. The company stated that the launch addresses growing demand for multifunctional ingredients that deliver consistent performance and support sustainable agricultural practices. Roquette produces plant-based ingredients from crops such as wheat and corn, serving customers in over 150 countries across the food, health, bioindustry, and agriscience sectors.
